Stick Power Field Hockey Club is for local field hockey players looking for an opportunity to improve their game by practicing in top notch facilities, receiving high level coaching, and competing in more field hockey events at an affordable price.
How To Become a Club Member?
All players can become a club member. You get to choose which club season you would like to participate in by registering online. Just click the “Sign Up” button. You can participate in as many or as few club seasons as you’d like.
Skill Level
All skill levels qualify for club. From beginner to novice to the elite player. We believe in developing players with practice, game experience, and coaching.
Cost
The costs vary per season based on entry fees, officiating, equipment use, staff coverage, field use, insurance, equipment, player gear/uniform, etc. Fall Season is $175 and includes a uniform, 4 practices, 1 event. If you choose to participate in additional events (outside the allocated 1-3 season events), which will be primarily US Field Hockey Sanctioned events, (i.e. National Indoor Tournament) there will be a separate cost for participation.
Seasons
FALL BALL:
The first Official Fall Ball Club season will take place in 2011. The season will run from September – October featuring four practice dates and 1 play day. The Fall Ball season is geared towards players ages 8-12 who may not have the opportunity to play field hockey at their schools. Fall Ball Club members will take pride in participating in a fund raising event developed by the CNU Field Hockey program.
WINTER INDOOR:
Winter Indoor will run from December- March. This season is for players from age 8-19 and will feature 6 team practices and 3 events. This is a great way to keep the love of the game alive and improve your skills throughout the winter months. U14 teams will have an additional opportunity to participate in the National Indoor Tournament sanctioned by US Field Hockey. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
SPRING BALL:
Spring Ball Club Season will run from April – May with 6 team practices and 3 events for players ages 8-19. Get back outside and enjoy the turf surface and warm weather with great coaching and field hockey friends!
SUMMER CLUB:
Summer Club Season will begin in June and run through August. Summer Club players ages 8-19 will also take advantage of 6 team practices and 3 events. Prepare for your upcoming school field hockey season by getting involved with the best coaching around! Take advantage of the turf surface and manicured grass field to sharpen your skills and get your head back in the game. U12 and U14 teams will have an additional opportunity to participate in the US Field Hockey sanctioned event: The Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase in July!! A great opportunity for developing players to match up against other teams from around the country.

8-18 years old, with the exception of Fall Ball which is 8-12 years old.

Uniforms
All Club members will be required to purchase a uniform. Once a uniform is purchased it can be used for any and all Club events. For example, a player who has already purchased a uniform for Fall Ball and signs up for Winter Indoor will not be charged for a uniform in the Winter Indoor registration fee.

What gear do you need for club?
Stick Power Club Uniform: Light and Dark Jersey, Light and Dark socks, and Club shorts, Stick, Shinguards, Molded Mouthpiece, Waterbottle, Cleats, Turfs or Sneakers if matches are on Astroturf.
Goal Keepers must supply their own equipment.
Practice Dates
All Club practice dates and times will vary. Upcoming dates and times for practice are posted on the main page under “updates” and the calendar. Location and times of practice may vary for the Winter Indoor season. Fall Ball, Spring Ball, and Summer Club seasons will hold practices at CNU’s Turf Field or in the Freeman Center during inclement weather. Practices help the club prepare for each of the events it has registered for and each season has something special to offer!

Parental Conduct
We request that parents ALWAYS display positive sporting behavior and treat players, coaches, and officials with respect. Having confrontational and overzealous parents can destroy the positive environment we hope to establish and the vision of the club. While your concerns are important please use your discretion on delivery. Keep in mind we are a new club that is learning and continually trying innovative concepts.
Events
Events are primarily in the state of Virginia with additional opportunities to participate in US Field Hockey sanctioned events out-of-state.
Insurance and Forms
Insurance is covered in the cost. We will use the on-line medical forms from registration.
